Mondays in the Park: Poleviyaoma Hopi Dancers and Brazilian Roots

16 Jul

07-17-2017 to 07-17-2017 – This week features Poleviyaoma Hopi Dancers and Brazilian Roots.

Poleviyaoma Hopi Dancers

The Hopi people come from a group of small villages or pueblos in northeast Arizona. Their pottery and Kachina-making is world renowned, and they also have a very rich heritage of music and dance rarely seen outside their traditional homeland.

Brazilian Roots

Brazilian music is famous throughout the world for its African-influenced musical styles of Samba and Bossa-Nova, but the band has a large repertoire that includes other forms including Pagode, Axe, and Forro. Brazilian Roots helps keep Brazilian culture vibrant in Utah by performing in local restaurants, at festivals, and for Brazilian community events and parties.
