Children of Hangzhou: Connecting with China

05-19-2017 to 05-20-2017 – The Children of Hangzhou: Connecting with China exhibition will immerse museum visitors in the settings and daily lives of four Chinese children. The exhibit includes original artwork created to present a unique Chinese aesthetic that delivers an immediate and unmistakable impression: You are in China.
Join us on for the grand opening event on May 19 that include traditional Lion dances performed by Calvin Smith Elementary Students, as well as Chinese paper cuttiing, origami, and calligraphy with members of the U of U Confucius Institue, and enjoy authentic Chinese treats!

On Saturday, May 20,  opening celebrations continue with guests from the University of Utah Confucius Institue from 10 am – 2 pm and Jung Hing Lion Club will perform a traditional lion dance at 11 am. The lion performers will be accompanied by a percussion ensemble including drum, gongs, and cymbals.

Children of Hangzhou: Connecting with China was produced by Boston Children’s Museum as part of the Freeman Foundation Asian Culture Exhibit Series, funded by The Freeman Foundation and administered by Association of Children’s museums.
