Blues and BBQ Night: River House Band

08-31-2016 to 08-31-2016 – Gather with friends and family at the Natural History Museum of Utah for some delicious BBQ this Wednesday evening, and enjoy a free performance by River House Band!

River House Band delivers a broad selection of bluesy Southern and classic rock, roots to modern blues, and rompin’ country tunes. Co-presented with KRCL, this concert is free to attend and BBQ food is available for purchase.

Seating will be provided, so no need to bring your own chairs. Museum exhibits will remain open until 9 p.m., however, normal admission fees apply to enter the exhibits.

Family Visual Art Workshop with Framework Arts

09-01-2016 to 09-01-2016 – This workshop will invite parents and children (3rd – 6th grades) to create collaborative artwork, totaling between 20 and 30 individuals. Artwork produced will be displayed in an exhibit during a school multicultural family event.

Figure Academy Exhibition 2016

08-09-2016 to 09-01-2016 – Showcasing the work of students attending the 2016 sessions of Visual Art Institute’s Figure Academy. Students painted and drew from live models for a total of 60 hours over just 2 weeks.

Over 50 pieces on display. Works include drawings, oil paintings, and watercolors.

Runs through August. Opening reception is August 12th, 6 – 9 PM, with refreshments and live music. Part of the Sugar House Art Walk.

Refugee Resettlement Film Event

09-01-2016 to 09-01-2016 – Come enjoy a free film screening of the award-winning documentary, The Lost Boys of Sudan. Following the film, we will have the opportunity to hear from special guest speakers who were once refugees, including Mr. Solomon Awan, one of the “lost boys”. Please bring an in-kind donation of a first aid kit, a component of a first aid kit, or a fire extinguisher. These donations will be given to newly arriving refugee families here in Utah.
